The Center for Clinical Studies is a core facility of the Vetsuisse Faculty. The Center has a steering committee, a Head of the Center for Clinical Studies and a Laboratory Manager Team (position shared by two molecular biologists). The steering committee consists of five representatives: one from each Clinic (Small Animals, Farm Animals, Horses), as well as a representative from the Pathobiology and Veterinary Public Health (Institute of Veterinary Pathology) and one from the Preclinical Institutes (Institute of Veterinary Biochemistry and Molecular Biology). The steering committee meets at least twice a year to discuss the strategy of the Center, contemplate new equipment, plan and apply for the operating budget and elect the Head of the Center for Clinical Studies.
The Center is allotted in nine rooms located in two buildings of the Vetsuisse Faculty. The facility comprehends prerequisites to support cell culture assays, molecular biology work and immunological research projects. The laboratory space and equipment is shared by all users.
